Only then can you optimize the killing power of your duck gun. But that takes time and money you may not have. Luckily, I’ve spent years pattern-testing shotguns.
7 Δεκ 2012 · I've owned both chokes and I hated my Patternmaster. I have the Kicks in Xfull, Full and Mod. The Mod choke with 2 shot and BB is great at distance and the Full does great with 2 shot or smaller.
3 Ιαν 2024 · One of the best choke tubes for waterfowl is the Patternmaster Code Black. It’s an extended ported choke that is designed to deliver dense patterns and even pellet distribution out to 60 yards. It patterns closer to a full choke and is great for those birds that like to skirt the decoys.
29 Ιαν 2014 · The PMs work well if you can match a load to them (any choke/ammo/gun combo I guess), but they also restrict what ammo you can use if you opt for the wad stripping models. You can get just as good patterns with a lot of cheaper chokes as well, without worrying about what ammo to buy.
14 Φεβ 2008 · I am going to buy the Kick's high flyer choke tube in Modified and the Patternmaster and see how that works with #2 - #4 steel shot. I was hoping not to have to spend $300 on chokes to find out which one worked the best, and be stuck with the rest of them.
