4 Ιαν 2022 · King David was born in Bethlehem, a small town in the hill country of Judah. Bethlehem is called “the city of David” in Luke 2:4 and 11. During the days of King Saul, the Lord told the prophet Samuel to anoint a young shepherd boy as the next king over Israel.
Bethlehem is located less than 5 miles from Jerusalem, in the hills of Judah. According to the Hebrew Bible, King David and his family were from this small shepherding village, and according to the Gospels, Jesus was born here.
