20 Φεβ 2017 · These minimum slopes are required to maintain a velocity of flow greater than 2 fps for scouring action. Table 1-5 gives the approximate velocities for given flow, slopes, and diameters of horizontal drains based on the Manning formula for half-full pipe and n = 0.015.

The slope of a horizontal drainage pipe shall be not less than that indicated in Table 704.1 except that where the drainage piping is upstream of a grease interceptor, the slope of the piping shall be not less than 1 / 4 inch per foot (2-percent slope).
The document summarizes requirements for the slope of horizontal drainage piping according to the 2018 International Plumbing Code. It states that horizontal drainage piping must be installed at a uniform and consistent slope as indicated in Table 704.1, with a minimum slope of 1/4 inch per foot for any piping upstream of a grease interceptor.
It can be used to connect various appliances to a drain or discharge stack providing the total loading does not exceed 5 l/s, the centre line of the WC branch is not more than 1,5 m and the centre line of the topmost connection is not more than 2,5 m above the invert level of the drain or branch discharge pipe [see Figure ND.4a)].
This drain pipe slope calculator will calculate the required minimum slope, grade, and total drop (fall) of a drainage pipe over a specified length of pipe. It can be used for building the proper pitch into a plumbing drainage system in a bathroom, kitchen, or even outdoors for rain water drainage.
The National Kitchen & Bath Association developed the Kitchen Planning Guidelines with Access Standards to provide designers with good planning practices that consider the needs of a range of users.
