I just discovered Native Instruments a few days ago. I noticed Kontakt 6 is on sale until tomorrow. IDK if this is a sales trick (bc I just downloaded Kontakt player) or if its always $200. Is it worth it? I have Logic Pro and I'm making old school jazz and alternative rock music.
However, to get Kontakt 6 for the lowest possible price, you must do the following first: Acquire a Kontakt library you want that's eligible for crossgrade. Preferably one that works in the free Kontakt PLAYER as that will allow you to use the library before you buy the full version of Kontakt.
If you do decide to get Kontakt, check out Embertone. They have a few good freebies. Maybe you'll find an orchestral library which works in the free kontakt player, then you could buy the library and immediately use it without having to pay for Kontakt.
I think Omnisphere has a lot more versatility than Kontakt, also Omnisphere can work out of the box without libraries. I'd personally recommend UVI Falcon instead of Omnisphere. But it really depends in what do you need to integrate into your production.
15 Ιαν 2022 · Kontakt is definitely worth it. Get a free or cheap Kontakt Player library, like Embertone Arcane, and you become eligible for a crossgrade at half the price you posted. Currently the full version and crossgrade are the same price for $199 (full discounted 50% from $399 and crossgrade discounted 20% from $249).
I have the Kontakt Player (free version) and its associated instruments and effects: Kontakt Factory Selection, Kinetic Treats and the Play Series Selection. I also have Komplete Kontrol (free) with its bundle of instruments and effects, which include the above and some other VSTis and effects.
