My favourite Korean cookbook thus far is "Growing up in a Korean Kitchen" by Hi Soo Shin Hepinstall. Second favourite is "The Korean Table" by Taekyung Chung and Debra Samuels. If you are cooking with/teaching kids, "Cook Korean" by Robin Ha is billed as "a comic book with recipes."
I love making Korean food, and looking for new cookbooks! I have both of Maangchi’s cookbooks and Korean Home Cooking by Sohui Kim - any other favorites you would suggest?
Maangchi is a very popular and I think the first Korean YouTube highly revered in the Korean cooking community. She has a cookbook but I haven't used it. I have followed some of her cooking videos and online recipes. I also like kimchimari's food blog if you're open to blogs.
For an overall introduction to Korean food Maangchi's books are great. Her newest book has lots of photos of not just the dishes but the raw ingredients and what they look like at the store so they're easy to find.
I love Maangchi, Seonkyoung Longest and Korean Bapsang for authentic, unadulterated Korean food recipes that are simple to follow and have good tips and easy explanations as to why we do things a certain way (like submerging and rinsing red meat).
I’m trying to learn how to cook Korean food. I live near a Korean grocery store, and I love walking through the aisles and looking at all of the unfamiliar (to me) ingredients. Any tips on the best websites / books for finding delicious and authentic recipes?
