Pissaladière is a classic onion and anchovy pizza from the Provence region of France. The flatbread is a little thicker than Neapolitan pizza, and is shaped into a large rectangle. My friend David had encouraged me to try making one, and I thought this would be perfect for the Twelve Loaves August theme, which is "savory bread."

A pissaladière is a French-style pizza made with onions, anchovies, and olives. Traditionally, the filling is prepared and baked on top of a thick bread dough (thicker than pizza dough). The onions on top are caramelized and sautéed with chopped anchovies, then simply placed on the dough to bake.
8 Μαρ 2015 · A fancy French restaurant in a cozy setting complete with white linens. I didn't expect fine dining of this caliber in a small town such as Mamaroneck. It is walkable through town or about 5 minutes from the train station. Very classic dishes and done to perfection.
