San Diego Wave FC is an American professional women's soccer team based in San Diego, California, that competes in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). The team plays its home games at Snapdragon Stadium. The Wave began play in the 2022 season as an expansion team. The Wave won the NWSL Shield in 2023, the team's first trophy. [1]
On the field, the club is represented by established international stars like Alex Morgan, Naomi Girma, Abby Dahlkemper, and Kailen Sheridan, as well as some of the brightest young talents in fútbol in 2022 U.S. Soccer Young Player of the Year Jaedyn Shaw and San Diego native Melanie Barcenas.
