A permit from LADBS is required for any private property construction, alteration, or repair work on buildings within the City of Los Angeles. Obtain an Online Permit. Permits for simple projects, which do not require plan check, are readily issued as Express Permits or e-permits when done online. View Express Permit Qualifications for a detailed list of the types of construction for which an express permit can be issued.
