Lake Hodges is open for fishing and boating on a Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday schedule from one-half hour before sunrise to sunset. All rentals must be back in by 5pm. Rental boats are available all three days.
The Lake Hodges Park road and parking areas, the Visitor Center, and boating access to the reservoir are only open on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and is closed December through January (during bird nesting season). The lake is open Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, dawn to dusk during the months of February through October. You can rent boats here or bring your own a pay a small ramp fee. You can even bring a tube that fits their requirements.
Lake Hodges is a small lake in Escondido that was once used for drinking water. It is still a "no contact" lake but you can wind surf. Only open on Wednesday Saturday and Sunday 6-6 is a nice lake to take your lunch and float for a.couple of hours.

Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 h 27 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
