Lake Texana is a reservoir on the Navidad River, 8 miles (13 km) east of Edna in Jackson County, Texas. The reservoir is formed by the construction of Palmetto Bend Dam, begun in 1968 and completed in 1979.
Texana to me is a more of the traditional state park experience. It has several hiking trails, fishing pier, boat ramp and has more tree shaded spots than Brackenridge. Both areas have abundant wildlife.
