The LED resistor value is determined using Ohm's law, with the formula: \ [ R = \frac {V_s - V_l} {I_L} \] where: \ (R\) is the resistance (in ohms, Ω), \ (V_s\) is the voltage of the source (in volts, V), \ (V_l\) is the voltage drop across the LED (in volts, V), \ (I_L\) is the current through the LED (in amperes, A).
