11 Μαΐ 2023 · Introduction. Paediatric medication errors — more specifically, prescribing errors — are some of the most important threats to patient safety in children [1] . These errors affect around 13% of paediatric prescriptions and can have lethal consequences [2,3] .
Traditionally providers have used “off-label” drugs to treat pediatric hypertension, meaning that rigorous clinical trials of these drugs have not been specifically performed in pediatric patient populations. Consequently providers have extrapolated dosing, safety and efficacy from trials in adults.
