I logged out of my Youtube account and was able to play videos without ads but since I'm not logged in, I was getting whatever videos Youtube served to me. Then I downloaded and installed Ublock Origin, paused AdBlock, logged back into Youtube and now I'm able to play videos again without ads while logged into my account.
