Lexmark regularly releases firmware updates. Keeping the printer firmware up to date is essential to enhance the printer performance and/or fix printer issues. Note: If the instructions do not match with your printer, then see Firmware Update Instructions (Legacy Devices).
How to check and update the firmware directly from the printer. When connected to the internet, many Lexmark printers can check for and upgrade firmware directly from the control panel or the Embedded Web Server.
Do not downgrade firmware just because another device with lower firmware is working correctly. Escalate all issues with Lexmark’s Technical Support team before deciding to downgrade firmware.
