This article will show you how to change or reset the router password using the recovery key on the router’s product label if you can’t log in to your router using your admin password.
If you have forgotten your NETGEAR router password, you can use the password recovery feature to restore it. You can access this feature by answering security questions you have previously set up. Here are six steps to follow when resetting your NETGEAR router password.
If you forget your router password, you'll have to reset your router and set up the router again. Resetting the router means clearing the name, password, and all other router settings and returning it to the factory default.
If you have a mesh system, you can tap on Reset password on the Router Password tab. You will be asked to enter the Recovery Key located on a sticker on the underside of your router. If you have multiple nodes in your mesh system, you can use the recovery key from any of the nodes.
If you’ve set up a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi account, you can manage your router settings online, including recovering or resetting the WiFi password. Go to the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Website: Open your browser and visit linksyssmartwifi.com. Log into Your Account: Enter your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi credentials.
Change Password. Enter your current Linksys Smart Wi-Fi password, and then enter the new password. Current Password: New Password: Confirm New Password: Ok. Cancel.
