1 Σεπ 2023 · Planted about a 100 L. benthamii 'Golden' seeds in the beginning of August, and the first ones have come up now. Very happy to see these little guys as I find the species extremely attractive, especially the Golden variant.

Livistona is a genus of palms, the botanical family Arecaceae, native to southeastern and eastern Asia, Australasia, and the Horn of Africa. [2] They are fan palms , the leaves with an armed petiole terminating in a rounded, costapalmate fan of numerous leaflets.
About Livistona benthamii. This is a solitary species with a straight, rigid, brown trunk, often with retained leaf bases. Its crown is topped with ornamental yellow-green leaves, with long petioles heavily armed with large teeth and coarse fibers at the base.
Common Name: Bentham's Fountain Palm. Livistona benthamii is one of the less commonly grown Livistonas in California but why that is exactly is unclear. It is an attractive palm and makes for an interesting specimen palm with nice, typically weeping fan leaves.
