The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee is dedicated to safeguarding apprentices from both minor and severe injuries. Our comprehensive classes and training programs cover a range of safety topics, including: Fabricated Frame; Scaffold Training Awareness (Supported, Suspended and Mast Climbers) Silica in Construction; Ergonomics
The International Masonry Training and Education Foundation (IMTEF) provides in-depth, quality training, certifications and continuing education programs for BAC members in all trowel trades: brick, stone, tile, marble, terrazzo, refractory, plaster, cement, and pointing/cleaning/caulking.

Local 1 offers a variety of training and apprentice opportunities to help members become stronger at their craft. Pension & Annuity All Local 1 Retirement Plans were established to help members build toward financial security at retirement, an important long-range goal for you and your family.
If you do not have experience in bricklaying or tile work, Local 1 offers a six-week training program in the spring to get you started. The program has a starting date of June 7th, Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. through July 16th.
