The flowers of ‘Louis Philippe’ are loosely double, about 2″ across, and colored a deep rose red with a hint of lighter blush pink in the center. A white stripe through the petals is frequently observed, a trait which belies its China rose heritage.

Louis Phillippe Rose features showy fragrant red flowers with white overtones and white streaks at the ends of the branches from late spring to mid fall. The flowers are excellent for cutting. It has dark green deciduous foliage. The oval compound leaves do not develop any appreciable fall color.
This is an old classic China rose first introduced in 1834. It is considered a continuous bloomer because it produces flowers over such an extended period. It has a sweet fragrance and has good disease resistance.
Medium, full (26-40 petals), cupped, globular bloom form. Prolific, blooms in flushes throughout the season. Short, armed with thorns / prickles, bushy. Glossy, medium green foliage. Height: 3' to 5' (90 to 150cm). Width: 4' (120cm). USDA zone 7b through 10a. Can be used for beds and borders, cut flower or garden.
