9 Αυγ 2016 · Many universal replacement motors are multi- horsepower: 1/6 - 1/4 -1/3. Sometimes, just using a larger capacitor is all they require to get the higher h.p. rating. If it was a 1/2 h.p., then it might be a concern.

1 Ιουλ 2011 · I've got an old Ruud and the condenser fan motor is failing. It's an Emerson, 1/6 hp, .9 amp, 208-230 volt 1075 rpm, 3 uf cap. I've got an AO Smith, 1/4 hp, 1.8 amp, 208-230 volt 1075 rpm, 5 uf cap, that I'd like to use as replacement. Am I going too large? Thanks for any feedback!
