The table below provides some common North American Lumber nominal sizes and their equivalent actual size. For example, 1x8 actual size is 3/4" x 7-1/4", and 2 x 12 actual size is 1-1/2" x 11-1/4", and 2x 10 actual size is 1-1/2" x 9-1/4".

3 Σεπ 2010 · When converting lumber sizes the nominal dimensions (2x) or (4x) should NOT be converted, rather the actual sizes like 1.5"x3.5" should be soft converted to 38x89mm. 2x4 = 38x89mm 2x6 = 38x140mm
