Only 11 of the main gun rounds were readily available in the turret, the remainder were scattered throughout the tank. Some nations dispensed with the bow machine gun and gunner/radioman, thus increasing overall ammunition capacity to 105, much as the British did with Sherman Firefly.
This version had full side skirts, a completely rebuilt turret fitted with a 105 mm gun, a modern laser range finder, and a new fire control system and communication equipment. -The M47E was a Spanish M47M in austere version: still fitted with the original fire control system.

It is fitted with an M36 90 mm gun mounted in a large cast turret and a Continental AV-1790 12 cylinder air cooled turbo charged 810 hp gas engine. The tank features a paint scheme similarly used by American armor in Europe during the early years of the Cold War and is affectionately named “Sally.”
