22 Ιουν 2018 · The M47E2 was a further development of the design, replacing the 90 mm gun with the 105 mm Rhienmetall Rh-105 gun, which was essentially a German copy of the British L7. This version was also fitted with new passive night vision sights. 45 vehicles were converted to this standard.
The M47 Patton was an intermediate solution basically incorporating the M46 hull and a newly shaped turret originally designed for the T42 heavy tank that did not enter service at all. It was the last US tank with a five-man design.

Performance specs include a top speed of 30 mph and a range of about 81 miles. Gradient crossing is limited to 60% and vertical obstacle crossing is limited to 3 feet. Trench crossings are limited to 8 feet 6 inches, while the onboard fuel capacity is 232 gallons.
