AR 5‐402 ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENT MANUAL EFFECTIVE DATE: December 15, 2016 AUTHORIZATION: A. Sousa, Interim Director TITLE: Advanced Life Support (ALS) Equipment List SUPERSEDES: September 9, 2015 General Principles A. REGULATORY AUTHORITY: 105 CMR 170.455, 170.460, 170.470
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: All equipment must be designed and constructed to meet medical performance objectives and must not endanger patients. MAINTENANCE: All equipment and supplies must be maintained and used according to manufacturers’ specifications, including but not limited to, for storage, expiration date and replacement.
EMT Certification based on Out-of-State EMT and Massachusetts Physician, Physician Assistant, Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner licensure. AR 2- 248. Recertification Deadlines and Reinstatement Procedures for EMT-Basics. AR 2- 307. Minimum Skill Requirements for Advanced EMT Training Programs. AR 2- 320.
Both documents contain an outline and skills performance assessment. This class is meant to be short lectures followed by practical stations so there is no PowerPoint. This course meets the OEMS requirements for Paramedics to complete interfacility transfers.
