20 Μαΐ 2020 · What you have done is upset the logical volume "Macintosh HD". For security reasons macOS Catalina splits the logical boot volume, in your case "Macintosh HD" into two physical volumes, one for all the system files and another for the use data which has " - Data" put on the end of the name.

20 Οκτ 2019 · The computer works fine so far, but the HD-Data did not exist on my Mojove system (according to earlier versions of Mojave backed up on my external hard drive) before I upgraded to Catalina and then reverted to Mojave.
30 Νοε 2021 · I am trying to completely reset a MacBook Pro 13" 2017 running Big Sur. I've gotten to the point where I've gone to disk utility via reboot and erased 'Macintosh HD'. However there is a separate disk called 'Macintosh HD - Data' and it's taking op 198 GB of the total 250GB!
My main Macintosh HD 500GB drive was not visible. Therefore I couldn't reinstall OS X by myself. I Googled some solutions, runned 'fsck' in a single mode (screenshot #2).

Is there a method/utility to actively resize the partitions on a dual-boot MacBook Air, without destroying the contents? I made the Windows Partition too small initially, and all the places I've looked have stated that resizing now using Boot Camp will destroy all data on the Windows 7 Partition.
