De novo is an industry term for branches built from scratch instead of being acquired fully developed from another bank.
The term “de novo” means “of new” in Latin, but it’s used most often in research to refer to the origins of something, especially a genetic mutation. Some genetic mutations, such as the BRCA genes related to breast and ovarian cancer, are inherited.
Here, we review the recent literature on de novo mutations, covering their detection, biological characterization, and medical impact. Upon fertilization, a human zygote inherits half of its genome from the mother via the oocyte and the other half from the father through the sperm.
