You may request a change of major by submitting an online application through StudentAccess. (See exceptions below.) The standard criterion for eligibility to change your major requires that you are in good academic standing.
If you are eligible to change, submit a Change of Major Application online through by going to Student Access> Applications> Change of Major. (Note that to apply, all of the Change of Major Criteria must be completed and grades must be posted on your transcript.)
The School of Engineering has set requirements for those who want to change their major to engineering. You will find the requirements listed below for each major available within our school. Please note, these requirements ONLY apply to students who have 90 units or less.
CURRENT STUDENTS must meet the change of major criteria as outlined at http://www.changeofmajor.uci.edu/. (some double majors might require higher standards) For additional information, see here. Once the criteria has been met, simply apply for a major change online through Student Access.

After July 1st, new freshmen must meet UCI's change of major criteria for continuing students. For updates on Orientation 2023, please visit the UCI Orientation page. New transfer students who wish to change majors before fall quarter begins must follow the criteria below.
how do i submit an application to change my major or double major? In your StudentAccess portal, click on “Applications” and then “Change of Major”. Select “Education Sciences” from the drop down and select the plus (+) if you are adding the major.
