11 Φεβ 2013 · The oil pump runs in the same location as if the engine had a distributor. While I am not against replacing oil pumps, a far more common issue is for the teeth on the aux shaft gear to break or wear down.

3 Νοε 2015 · I doubt anything on the outside of the engine that you can see will be helpful. I would pull out the Oil pump gear and see if it has a part number on it. Have a look at this thread: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=282640.
2 Ιουλ 2007 · Toyota, Mitsu/Hyundai and a few others have used the timing belt to drive the oil pump. It's a fairly common practice to have a chain or belt drive an oil pump if it's not driven off the crank snout or a spur shaft off the cam.
5 Μαΐ 2010 · Install the crankshaft sprocket, new crankshaft sprocket diamond washers, oil pump chain and oil pump sprocket. The crankshaft sprocket flange must be facing away from the engine block.
26 Νοε 2023 · The attached from the Ford Service Manual (2022 2.7 section) perhaps of interest. While not specifying the load the pump imposes it's explicitly designed "to minimize its parasitic energy loss" (which would correlate to belt load).
