Runaway Bay is a town in Saint Ann Parish on the northern coast of Jamaica and is considered one of the most naturally beautiful places on the island. It is a notable tourist destination located 16 km west of Ocho Rios , and slightly east of Discovery Bay , where Christopher Columbus landed in 1494.

Runaway Bay is a beautiful spot on the north coast. The public beach is great for snorkeling, swimming, sunbathing, and walking. There are a few vendors with shops at one end for shopping. Runaway Bay is in a good location..far enough outside Ocho Rios to be less touristy, but close enough to get to shopping and nightlife.

Runaway Bay is the smallest of Jamaica’s resort areas. It is 12 miles west of Ochos Rios and 50 miles east of Montego Bay. [10] The one-street village of Runaway Bay is lined with all-inclusive resorts and stretches along the A1 for 3 km, merging with the neighboring community of Salem in the east. [17]

Runaway Bay is a beach area on the northern coast of Jamaica, mainly dominated by luxury hotels operating on "all inclusive" basis. However, in the east end of the settlement there is also public beach. It's pretty good, though hotels' beaches are much better. Shore and seabed: sand.
