Incident Map. This map shows the locations of oil spills and other incidents for which NOAA's Office of Response and Restoration (OR&R) provided scientific support for the response. It also shows the locations of other major spills, but it does not show the location of every significant oil spill.
SkyTruth created Oil Spill Tracker in 2010, with support from Surfrider Foundation and Ocean Conservency. It was created to fill the information vacuum that was created by the government and the BP-driven spill response process in the aftermath of the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

The Oil Spill Planning & Response Map Viewer contains Geographic Response Strategy (GRS) maps of site-specific protection strategies and Environmental Sensitivity Index (ESI) maps which identify critical habitats, species, and other socio-economic resources which may be at risk during an oil spill.

The smaller dots refer to less than 50,000 tonnes being spilled and the largest dot refers to over 150,000 tonnes being spilled.
