Poros. The greenest island of the Argosaronic Gulf. Its beauty has been praised by popular poets and prose writers, such as Georgios Seferis, Ioulia Dragoumi and the American writer Henry Miller. Pinewoods cover the island’s hills, and go all the way to the sandy beaches.
When you land, you find quaint tavernas, yacht marinas, neoclassical buildings, a clocktower, pine-tree forests reaching the sea, serenity and relaxation. On foot, by bike or by boat, Poros invites you to discover its charming simplicity on one of the best islands close to Athens.

Poros (Greek: Πόρος) is a green island situated in the Saronic Gulf, 59 km (32 nautical miles) from the Piraeus harbour of Athens. It has an area of 33 km², a shoreline of 42 km, and a population of about 3,650. In ancient times it was considered the island of Poseidon, God of the Sea.
An island that is perfect for any type of vacation, both if you love relaxing beautiful beaches or the wonderful vibrant Greek nightlife! The island of Poros is part of the Saronic archipelago. The island is actually made of two smaller islands connected to each other thanks to a bridge.
