To complete your application, you and your prospective spouse must schedule an in-person or virtual appointment with the Office of the City Clerk. For complete information on obtaining a Marriage License, visit the Marriage Bureau section of the City Clerk Web site.

9 Μαρ 2024 · Getting married in the state of New York takes some prior planning. You will get your marriage license the same day you apply for it. However, you cannot hold your New York wedding for at least 24 hours after you file for your marriage license unless you get a judicial waiver.

If you're going to get married in New York State, you must first apply for and be issued a NY marriage license from any city or town clerk. You must apply together and in person: no proxies or power of attorneys.

Then, log onto the Project Cupid website to upload your ID, verify each applicant’s identity, pay a $35 license fee, and schedule your appointment for a future date with the City Clerk.
