What are your Federal rights in a nursing home? As a resident of [Facility Name], you have certain rights and protections under Federal law that help ensure you get the care and services you need. [Facility Name] must provide you with a written description of your legal rights.
Subject to certain provisions, you or your representative have a right to: Reside and receive services in a nursing facility with reasonable accommodations of individual needs and preferences, except when accommodations would endanger the health or safety of the resident or other residents;
What rights do Nursing Home Residents have? You have many rights as a nursing home resident under both Maryland and federal law. You have general rights as a resident of a nursing home, rights to having a plan of care developed that is tailored to your needs, and the right to be informed about and participate in your medical care.
