Panther Math Prep is completed through a free, online, self-paced program called ALEKS. After you complete the online registration, you will take an online math assessment. If you are satisfied with your score, you can use it for your math placement.
Math placement is determined by the math score on your ACT/SAT plus high school GPA, prior college credit earned in math courses, or by completing an ALEKS placement test via the free online Panther Math Prep program.
Panther Math Prep is a free online placement tool that allows you to assess your current math skill level and receive a course placement via an online proctored math placement test in a platform called ALEKS.

In 25 questions or less, PPL’s open-response Placement Assessment determines students’ knowledge across 314 topics and places them into courses from Basic Math to Calculus, including corequisites, Statistics, and non-STEM courses.
There are two math placement tests. “Calculus 1 Placement Exam,” for students who wish to enroll in Calculus 1, and “Precalculus Placement Exam" for students who wish to enroll in Precalculus or Business Calculus.
Within the 'Math Placement' section you will have access to practice exams, as well as topic-by-topic videos and quizzes to help you prepare for the placement exams. When you’re ready to take the test, select 'Online Placement Exams' and follow the instructions provided.
