γγ and γκ are pronounced as ng in longer or angry: ἄγγελος, γάγγραινα, ἐγκράτεια. γ before the consonants χ or ξ is pronounced as ng nasal, as in song: ἐλέγχω, τυγχάνω, ἔλεγξις, φάραγξ, λάρυγξ, σάλπιγξ. μπ is pronounced mb, except before another consonant: ἐμπορία, ἔμπροσθεν, but ἐμπτύω. ντ is pronounced nd: ἀντί, Ἀντιόχεια.
