12 Δεκ 2020 · I have a McGowen barrel in a 22 x47 Lapua that shoots a wide range of bullets very well. Best group has been 5/8" 3 shot group at 750 yards. Just put one on an AR-15 and it shoots a one hole group time after time.

14 Μαρ 2015 · Average accuracy for the 5 loads was .645″ (.616 MOA). Removing group 5 from the average, it was .558″ (.533 MOA). Best group was .360″ (.344 MOA). Groups 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. The hole in-between the bottom target dots is the 50 yard sighter shot. Best group of the day, .360″, 5 shots at 100 yards. Not too shabby.

The barrel is standard Savage Varmint contour, 26" 1-10" twist. 21 Αυγ 2020 · I have a mcgowan on my 300wm. As others have said, reviews show that mcgowen in the past was hit or miss on quality. If i remember my research correctly, i had found an ownership change sometime around 2010-2014. My order was in 2017. Got the barrel screwed on using their barrel nut and it shoots great. 1.
