30 Μαΐ 2019 · It has shot several 5 shot one hole groups and sometimes it puts 5 in the .4s but it is a good shooting rifle for the money I have in it. It's a consistently accurate sub 1/2 MOA rifle to 1000 yds. I've re-barreled several R700s with Criterions and they shoot very well too.

19 Ιουν 2010 · Hello Hiders, wondering if anyone has tried a barrel from McGowen Precision. I'm looking at possibly buying a new barrel for a savage action from them in .223. The purpose is for paper punching and prairie dog hunting, so accuracy is THE main goal.
12 Δεκ 2020 · I have heard a mix bag of reviews on the McGowen barrels. I ordered one last year simply because of the lead times on when I needed it. I have been able to work up loads in that 3/4 MOA range without a ton of trouble. My question is, are the Shilen, Benchmark, Brux etc. that much better than the McGowen? Will it be that noticeable of a difference?
5 Ιαν 2019 · A good rifle with a bad barrel will not shoot accurately. Conversely, a poor-quality rifle with a good barrel can shoot accurately. Yet for a data-driven guy who wants to make objective, informed decisions … choosing a barrel can be tough!
30 Σεπ 2022 · I have a McGowen 260 barrel on a Rem 700 right now and have had 2 on XP-100s in the past. I have yet to find a load the 260 doesn't like. That being said, I am not looking for BR accuracy, but everything from 120s to 143s have shot below or just over 1". The XPs also shot great.
9 Μαΐ 2021 · I have three McGowen Remage barrels: .260 Ackley, .243 Ackley, .22-250 Ackley (see a trend?). All mounted on Remington actions that had the action and bolt faces trued. All are shooters.
14 Νοε 2012 · I'm getting ready to order my first ReMage barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor and I've narrowed the choice down to two brands: Criterion and McGowen. Has anyone here shot both and have a recommendation of one over the other?
