30 Μαΐ 2019 · Looking down the bore of my McGowen vs my two higher end barrels is enlightening. The two high-end (cut-rifling) barrels are smooth and the McGowen has a lot of imperfections/tooling marks/pits. In defense of the McGowen though, it shoots amazing.
12 Δεκ 2020 · I have heard a mix bag of reviews on the McGowen barrels. I ordered one last year simply because of the lead times on when I needed it. I have been able to work up loads in that 3/4 MOA range without a ton of trouble.
30 Σεπ 2022 · Overall, for a button-rifled barrel, I would say they are near the top. If you want to spend the money on a cut-rifled, hand-lapped barrel, be my guest. I have a few of those too and they shoot quite well.
30 Σεπ 2022 · My best advise to someone looking at McGowen Barrel is to "RUN" and never look back. I am serious, do not do business with McGowen Barrel. I am sharing because I do not want anyone to experience the 5-month ordeal that I went through. I fired them, got my money back, and purchased a Bartlein barrel (haven't received it yet).
I have a mcgowan on my 300wm. As others have said, reviews show that mcgowen in the past was hit or miss on quality. If i remember my research correctly, i had found an ownership change sometime around 2010-2014. My order was in 2017. Got the barrel screwed on using their barrel nut and it shoots great. 1.
12 Φεβ 2023 · Has anyone had luck with Mcgowen Barrels that need a barrel nut? Click to expand... My Criterion with a nut shoots great on my T3 and it's priced right, if I were doing it again I'd stick with shouldered but the barrel shoots too well for me to replace it.
16 Αυγ 2011 · Hey guys I had a fun day at the range today with my Mcgowen barreled 1022s. I decided to run some match ammo down the tubes. Here is some of the results from the Tan stocked 1022 with the Mcgowen 24 inch barrel at 50 yards (5 shot groups).
