Messerschmitt ME 109. Apart from the Ju-87 "Stuka" (a dive bomber) the Me-109 is probably the most famous German plane of the Second World War. Development started in 1934, the first experimental model was flying on May 5, 1935, then still under the type identification Bf-109.
The Bf 109 has a maximum speed of 280 knots at sea level, 317 knots at 13,123 feet, 350 knots at 20,669 feet, and 336 knots at 26,247 feet. It has a cruise speed of 320 knots at 19,685 feet. The standard range is between 475-616 nautical miles, the combat range is 238-309 nautical miles, and the ferry range is 618-1,077 nautical miles.
