10 Φεβ 2023 · Our findings are consistent with recent demographic trends that gender gaps in remarriage rates have decreased in several countries. This study also confirms gendered patterns in associations between sociodemographic factors and remarriage attitudes among the divorced.
More importantly, there is a lack of research on whether and how the gender gap in attitudes toward remarriage has changed over time. This study aims to fill these gaps by exploring trends in the attitudes of divorced men and women toward remarriage over the last two decades in South Korea.
10 Ιαν 2019 · Using data from the 1998–2014 Health and Retirement Study, we examined women’s and men’s likelihoods of forming a remarriage or cohabiting union following gray divorce by estimating competing risk multinomial logistic regression models using discrete-time event history data.
Living together with a new partner is also counted as ‘remarried.’ Remarriage is coded in a cumulative fashion, which means that the variables for divorce and widowhood stay in the model when remarriage is added and these variables are not reset to 0 after a remarriage.
