This 100-percent natural cocoa shell mulch is a unique soil enhancement for flower beds and vegetable gardens introduced by the Hull Farm nearly 30 years ago. A by-product of roasted cocoa beans, the rich brown discarded hulls were intended to be an environmentally friendly, eye-catching alternative to standard mulch applications.

It can help to improve soil drainage, retain moisture, suppress weeds, and attract beneficial insects. Cocoa bean mulch is available for purchase online, at local garden centers, and at farmers markets.
Features. Discourages weed growth and helps to retain soil moisture. Avoid exposure to rain or sprinklers for 48 hrs to prevent early fading. All dyes used are pet-safe, non-toxic, environmentally friendly and biodegradable. Covers approximately 12 square feet at 2" depth. Place mulch at least 6" from building foundations and 2" from plants.

Cacao shell mulch is a fantastic all natural fertilizer (not meant for Human Consumption) Its fertilizing value is about 2.5-1-3. It will not burn down grass or other plants. It breaks down slowly and will not disappear in the soil. Also an excellent medium to grow mushrooms.
