The FIBA Players' Mentorship Program, launched in 2021, ensures individuals are trained by FIBA within National Federations to provide players (and, in the case of young players, their parents or guardians) with the necessary support off the court.
We offer two distinct mentoring programmes, our Global Mentoring Programme (which individuals can join) and our Tailored Mentoring Programme (which organisations and teams can join).
The Players’ Mentor can: Provide lifestyle support and advice. Provide non-judgemental, holistic, and impartial supporting health and well-being. Be a professional "friend" – a listening ear, a sensibly challenging question based on trust and integrity.
The Players’ Mentor works with players to consider schedules, demands and to identify potential challenges and how these may be resolved. A dual career can be stressful; your Players’ Mentor can work with you to help sporting and non-sporting commitments work together rather than against each other.
A 6-month mentorship to empower the next generation of athletes in their journey after sports. Applications to participate in our peer mentorship program are open year-round. You can receive or provide one-on-one support to another athlete.
17 Ιαν 2024 · Mentorship can be a valuable tool for supporting the development of people from marginalized groups across a variety of roles in sport, including people who are gender-diverse, racialized, Indigenous, new to Canada, or live with a disability.
The NABC Mentor Circle is structured to develop valuable coach-to-coach relationships. Through these mentor-mentee relationships, the NABC Mentor Circle strives to achieve the following goals: Promote the growth of young coaches. Help both the mentor and mentee develop professionally and personally.
