White-tailed deer are a cultural keystone species (Garibaldi and Turner 2004) and the most highly valued game species in Michigan, with the largest number of participants and stakeholder groups. In 2013, 662,000 hunters spent 9.2 million days afield hunting deer (Frawley 2014). Deer are most limited by overwinter survival.
This form is the application for a Permit to Hold Wildlife in Captivity. After being approved and signed by the Director’s authorized representative, it becomes a valid permit.
