26 Μαΐ 2023 · Moreover, when I search for text I know for a fact to be in the text box, I can see that Word has found the text in the sidebar but it does not highlight the text in the document itself. I have also tried searching text from other textboxes and that text is highlighted in the main document.

7 Ιαν 2012 · When I'm working in another part of the document, moving text boxes or editing images, or pretty much anything, linked text boxes earlier in the document seem to disappear, and become unlined from their originating text boxes!

Here's what worked for me to remove a hidden text box. Search for text in the box. If more than one instance of the text shows up in the search results, left-click to highlight the text box you want to get rid of. Next, close the search window ("x" in the upper-right corner).
