25 Απρ 2022 · Amway's controversy comes from its recruiting practices, which have commonalities with pyramid schemes. The company, however, legitimately sells products to consumers and offers a source of income from sales to its Amway distributors (independent business owners).
Amway and WWG are just trying to push their pyramid scheme to the digital market but they can't compete or keep up. You have companies like Alibaba and AliExpress, Temu, and Wish who have used the market share e-commerce created allowing drop shipping.
As you might expect, one of the biggest and most long-standing accusations against Amway is that it’s an illegal pyramid scheme. Hence the term “Scamway.”. But the FTC actually ruled this out in 1979 due to the fact that Amway does not specifically pay people for recruiting new distributors.
I will need to figure out if amway is part of the problem. Is there some jewelry scam associated with them too? A couple years ago she showed me some she purchased and they came with printed cards showing the value.
While it is not a scam pyramid scheme in the traditional sense— Amway does offer products and allows for potential earnings—many elements of its operation raise significant ethical concerns. The financial reality for most IBOs paints a grim picture, with an overwhelming majority failing to turn a profit.
