22 Αυγ 2023 · This Safe Exam Browser configuration file can either be generated using the Safe Exam Browser config tool (the documentation can be found under https://safeexambrowser.org/windows/win_usermanual_en.html#configuration) or directly within Moodle.
This quiz access rule was created by Tim Hunt at the Open University. It provides integration for Safe Exam Browser 2.0 or later with Moodle. It can be used with versions 2.7 of Moodle, or later.
The Browser Exam Key allows an exam module to authenticate the connecting SEB version and its settings. For the learning management system Moodle a plug-in offering this functionality has been released, a plugin ILIAS will follow shortly (beta version available).
All issues should be fixed in Moodle core first before they will be back-ported to this plugin. The following minimum versions of the Safe Exam Browser client are required for use of the Config Key. MacOS - 2.1.5pre2, Windows - 3.0, iOS - 2.1.14.
During the exam, the clients can be monitored in the SEB Server web backend, SEB can be quit remotely etc. SEB Server currently supports Open edX, Moodle, OpenOlat (currently not in public OO version) and Ans.
Since Moodle 3.9, there is very comfortable support for Safe Exam Browser directly available in Moodle's quiz settings. The new "deeper integration" is also available as plugin for Moodle 3.7 and 3.8 .
Exam with BYOD «Dan wants to confront students with challenging tasks and questions in exam situations. Dan setups a Moodle quiz with SEB, that allows no external URL or communication except the quiz. He selects different buttons in the quiz settings to lock down the system following his wishes.
