11 Μαΐ 2015 · The easiest solution (and likely best) is to buy the universal bottom bracket from Velo Orange (or similar). These basically expand to fit in, and don't affect or use the threads so they'll work on most standard BB road bike frames. It will be JIS (square taper). There is some more information at this link.

21 Ιαν 2018 · I'm trying to identify the exact year/model of a Motobecane called the "Special Sport", which was bought in France. I don't know if the parts are all original, however: It has a Huret Svelto rear derailleur, but I can't tell what model the Huret front derailleur is.
9 Μαΐ 2022 · Motobecane was founded in 1923 in France and was a manufacturer of bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles. I believe the name is ment to mean motorbike by combining two slang terms. They were one of the biggest French bicycle manufacturers and are often compared to Gitane and Peugeot.
For many years Motobecane was France's largest manufacturer of motorcycles. Charles Benoit and Abel Bardin joined in 1922 and designed their first motorcycle in 1923, a 175 cc (10.7 cu in) single cylinder two-stroke -engined bike.
27 Μαρ 2011 · I'm guessing it's an early 70's mid-range (maybe Nomad). The head badge shape is the pre-1974'ish shield. Around '74 they went to a much nicer, round head badge. Mid-range because the front fork is chromed.
