The overall gearing of a motorcycle consists of 3 major parts: The primary drive, the ratio between the engine (crankshaft) and the clutch or gearbox. The gear box it self, depending on the amount of gears this part has an equal amount of ratio to choose from.
19 Δεκ 2021 · You can use the combined motorcycle gearing ratio to see how much it gears down engine speed to final drive speed (in revolutions / min). In other words, the combined gearing ratio says: for every one revolution of the wheel, the engine has to turn around this many times.
Enter gear ratios, primary ratio, sprocket sizes and tire diameter, then drag RPM slider to calculate speed from RPM. Drag Max RPM slider to adjust the range of the RPM and Speedometer Gauges.
This program calculates the gear ratios of a motorcycle. The primary drive ratio and overall ratios for each gear are all calculated. Just enter the data in the white boxes below, then click the "Calculate" Button.
Motorcycle Gear Ratio. For most motorcycles this will typically be between 3 and 5. This number represents the final drive ratio and shows how many times the countershaft sprocket will turn in order to turn the rear motorcycle wheel one revolution. A higher number allows the engine to rev more.
The Gearing Commander's database stores all default (Stock) gearing specifications for currently different bikes and uses them to calculate speeds, RPM's, chain length etc. By selecting your bike and changing 1 or more variables you can predict the theoretical outcome without having to spent money on costly experiments !
