Livedo reticularis is a common skin finding consisting of a mottled reticulated vascular pattern that appears as a lace-like purplish discoloration of the skin. The discoloration is caused by swelling of the venules owing to obstruction of capillaries by small blood clots.
When I was paler my skin looked like that even though I religiously moisturised and exfoliated, only went away when I got more tanned. Looks like normal skin mottling. In isolation (without knowing any other symptoms) it’s unlikely to be problematic. I’ve also had this my whole life (I’m a Raynauds-er though).
I live in an arctic environment and when I come in from being outside my skin I will see that my skin on my legs is pink and white, mottled. My face turns red but not all the way to the hairline/jawline.
