Mount Hope Cemetery is known for its many old monuments, including an area where soldiers from the Civil War are buried. The cemetery has nearly 50,000 interred bodies, including multiple generations of many families.
The office and cemetery entrance are located at 115th and Fairfield. Mount Hope Cemetery was founded around 1865 and is owned by the Mount Hope Cemetery Association. It is generally in good condition with many old monuments, including one area where soldiers from the Civil War are buried.
The cemetery features beautiful old oaks and evergreens, which we strive to maintain to their fullest health and beauty. Visitors are always welcome and encouraged to visit the park (View Map). The park is open daily from 8:30 am – 4:15 pm, and closed Sundays. Find a Grave Location.
