This is my preferred one since you don't have to tamper with the system. In my case (Nov 2019) I followed the link to the Microsoft Licensing Activation Centers worldwide telephone numbers.

Just converted an old physical XP to Virtual (P2V) and now it asked for activation. I got the genuine key, but the activation server is no longer available and called the tech support and they are not helpful (unable to activate too).
I need to reinstall XP Pro but all I have is an enterprise version of SP2. I can install this SP2 but I want to use the product key that came with the laptop and not the enterpise key. Is this possible?
